An interesting fact on the latest update of Chinese mainland companies listed on the Hong Kong Exchange:
 
Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited (HKEx) said that:

• by the end of July, 2006, a total of 351 Chinese mainland enterprises had been listed on the HKEx;
• Out of the 351 mainland companies, 272 are listed on the main board of the HKEx;
• The market capitalization of the 351 companies are about 4.42 trillion HK dollars (569 billion US dollars), accounting for 44 percent of Hong Kong stock market’s total;
• In the first seven months of this year, the traded volume of the Chinese mainland enterprises on the Hong Kong stock market accounted for 57 percent of the market’s total and
• In term of fund raising volume of the initial public offering for companies listing in the HKEx, the Chinese mainland companies occupied top 10 in the past dozens of years.
