Published by slang October 18th, 2007 in IPO/PrivatisationIPO statistics from Securities Commission in Quarter 3′2007:
- it received 13 new IPO applications in Q3, almost double the seven received in Q2;
- the size of initial public offerings (IPOs) approved grew substantially in the third quarter (Q3). The potential market capitalisation of three IPO applications approved in Q3 amounted to RM2.41bil compared with RM414mil for the same number of IPOs approved in Q2,
- Six of the new applications were for a Mesdaq listing,
- Mesdaq companies were also graduating to the main board, reflecting the greater strength and quality of these companies, as well as realising the stock exchange’s objective of attracting young technology-based and high growth companies without the required profit track record for incubation and eventual progression to the main board.
- So far this year, the SC has approved three applications for Mesdaq companies to transfer to the main board.
The SC also introduced a single licensing regime on Sept 28, which will contribute to even greater business efficiencies in the capital market as well as allow qualified intermediaries to hold longer tenured licences.
